Improving the service

We have been working together with other Citizens Advice Bureaux to improve our telephone advice service. We are now sharing the same telephone number as a number of other CABs and we are all deploying trained staff to answer calls. This is the local launch of a service which will eventually become part of a national Advice Line network.

During this transitional period, the best time to call us is between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM on weekdays. This is when it is most likely that you will be able to speak to an adviser.

Assessing your advice needs

When you call us, the adviser will firstly ask you some questions to assess your problem using our new Gateway Assessment process. Then you will either be offered information to help resolve the problem or if appropriate you will be offered an appointment for a fuller discussion and detailed advice.
