We developed the site to conform with contemporary accessibility best practice and advisory guidelines. Here are some of the features we have included to make the site more accessible...

Access keys

Please refer to the Access keys section (there’s a link in the footer of every page) for more details.

Windows users:
Press the Alt key in combination with the relevant access key (plus Return in some browsers).

Macintosh users:
Press the Ctrl key in combination with the relevant access key.

Contrast

We have chosen a colour scheme which maintains a high contrast between the text on the page and its background. We have also used colour and clear instructions to make it apparent where we expect people to interact with the site.

Text re-sizing

You can easily alter the size of the text on this site to make it more readable. There are two ways of achieving this:

1. If you have a mouse with a scroll wheel, press and hold down your keyboard's Ctrl key and move the scroll wheel backwards and forwards. Most browsers will change the text size up and down for you.
2. Most browsers give you an option to change text size from their toolbar. In Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, for example, click on View > Text Size to see options to change text size.

Limited function browsers

Although the site is best viewed with a modern browser that implements Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), the site is still usable without CSS.

The site does not need any programming capabilities (such as Javascript, Java, ActiveX or 'Flash'). It will work fine if your browser does not support these features or if you have them switched off.
